Champagne corks pop for Brexit Buster ship at Dublin Port
Congrats to all at Dublin Port on the christening today of MV Celine, the world’s largest short sea Ro-Ro ship which is owned by CLdN. Guest of honour, An Taoiseach, Leo Varadkar TD and the ship’s Godmother carried out the duties in the long-held tradition of breaking champagne against the ship to bring good fortune.
New music commissioned for the ship by Dublin Port was performed by John Sheahan and Colm Mac Con Iomaire.
With a capacity of 8,000 lane-meters, MV Celine represents the next generation of super ferries servicing Dublin Port. New figures show that cargo volumes at Dublin Port grew by 3.4% in Q1 2018.
