Gibneys wins Best Public Affairs Campaign at the 2024 PRCA Awards

Gibney Communications was delighted to receive the award for Best Public Affairs Campaign at the prestigious PRCA Awards for our work with the Institute of Physics.

The Gibney team, led by Director of Public Affairs Mark O’Doherty, ran a campaign that resulted in Ireland becoming a member of CERN, the European Organisation for Nuclear Research. This outcome was the result of over 18 months of hard work and close collaboration with the Institute of Physics.

We were also highly commended in the Best Corporate Communications Campaign with a budget under €30,000. We delivered this campaign, led by Senior Account Director Karen Jones, for Dublin Port Company. The campaign highlighted their partnership with St Andrews Resource Centre on the Constructions Skills Course that gives unemployed people a chance to upskill and find work in the construction industry.

Commenting on our success at the awards, Gibney Communications Managing Director Donnchadh O’Neill said:

“We are delighted to take home the award for our work with the Institute of Physics. Our Public Affairs team planned and executed a highly strategic campaign that resulted in a clear success for our client. The PRCAs are the highest standard of recognition in our industry, and we are honoured that they have selected us in this very competitive category.”

Announcing the award, the PRCA said:

“The winning entry was cited as having a clear, tangible outcome to overcome the challenge of gaining commitment and investment and having to establish a persuasive case for new investment. The campaign showed clear stakeholder mapping and delivered tangible results that delivered value for money.”
